Modeling: Creating the Illusion of Form on a 2-D surface

WARM UP

Do 2 or 3 contour drawings in your DWB.

VALUE SCALE

Tools: You will be given 3 different pencils.

Create a 9 step value scale (from white to black) using loose, scribbled lines for each step.
As you move from light to dark, you should change your pencil from hard to soft.

MODELING

Working with the simple shape of circle, model the form to create the illusion of a sphere using loose, scribbled lines.

TIPS:
Make sure that you have a clear, single light source.
Take your time slowly building the value.
Keep your line loose.
NO erasers!
