Shape

Shape is a 2Dimensional area clearly set off by one or more of the other visual elements.
SHAPES are flat and therefore, limited to 2 Dimensions whle FORM is 3 Dimensional.
Shapes can be:
biomorphic (curved, natural, organic) or architectonic (angular, geometric)
 
representational (realistic objects or people) or non-representational (abstract pure shapes)
 
hard-edged (crisp) or soft-edged (blurred)
 
Shapes can also be:
used to create the illusion of 3D space
different sizes
expressive
used to show volume
