Space

Space is the distance or area between, around, above, below or within things.  It is often referred to as negative space/shape.
 
Space can be
occupied (full) or unoccupied (empty)
enclosed or open
2 Dimensional (flat)-negative shapes
3Dimensional (actual)
deep, shallow, flat
emotional
 
To created the illusion of 3Dimensional space on a 2Dimensional surface:
  • size
  • placement
  • detail
  • colour
  • line
