Culture/ subculture
Cultures can be big or small. They can overlap, and within a dominant culture people can belong to several groups
or subcultures.
These overlapping groups may be identified by ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, geographic location and mobility,
income, occupation, education and other factors.
Graeme Chalmers

An attitude or outlook in which values derived from one's own cultural background (the colonizer's) are applied to other
cultural contexts where different values are operative.
