Keep a seperate 'sketchbook' for your drawing assignments.
Please make sure that you date all of your drawings and enter them in chronological order.

The Figure

Working from your imagination create a drawing of figure, in an interesting pose, that is broken down into simple geometric shapes (like we did in class this week). Once you have the basic shapes, begin to model the form using one of the techniques explored last term (hatch, cross-hatch, stipple, scribble, etc.).

Draw a continuous free flowing line around your page.
After you have filled your page spend a minute or two looking for representational forms to emerge.
Erase the unecessary lines and use these new forms as the starting point of a composition.

Think about the content of your composition (subject matter), as well as, the formal arrangement (elements and principles).
