Expectations for All Classes

All students are expected to follow The 5 Respects.
The following are some specific examples of how I expect The 5 Respects to be interpreted in the Art room:

RESPECT FOR SELF
-accept constructive criticism positively
-take responsibility for own work
-demonstrate a high level of personal engagement in the work
-keep up to date with your work
-follow safety procedures

RESPECT FOR OTHERS
-show sensitivity to one's own and different cultures
-invite and accept views from others
-support and encourage peers towards a positive working environment
-keep your voice low and movements to a minimum
RESPECT FOR LEADERSHIP/ AUTHORITY
-listen when the teacher is speaking
-follow instructions to the best of your ability
-seek help or clarification of work as needed
-cooperate with the teacher and your classmates

RESPECT FOR ENVIRONMENT
-help to clean and maintain the artroom and art materials
-conserve and recycle materials when possible



RESPECT FOR LEARNING
-show self-motivation, initiative and a willingness to take artistic risks
-come to class on time and prepared to work
-stay on task and use your class time efficiently
-bring your DWB and use it daily
-plan ahead and work at a reasonable pace
-OIS- use English in the classroom
